The Seychelles economy is primarily based on the three sectors which are rapidly expanding. These are industrial fishing, tourism and offshore financial services. Seychelles is one of the most beautiful and exclusive holiday destinations in the touristic world, offshore financial sector is also on the increase now and has become the significant element of the country's economy.

Seychelles Offshore Companies

Seychelles enjoys highly comprehensive offshore tax haven legislation in the world. The two main types of offshore companies available in Seychelles are the classic International Business Company, which is free of taxes, and Special License Company paying low taxes.

Seychelles IBC is probably the most competitive and cost-efficient type of International Business Company among those available on the today offshore financial services market. Seychelles IBC offers many benefits to its clients including tax-free status, very fast incorporation, low maintenance costs (only $100 minimum fixed annual license fee), no reporting, no requirements to file accounts or annual returns, no requirement to file records of directors and shareholders, the availability of bearer shares, no information-sharing agreements with other countries, strict confidentiality provisions.

Seychelles Special License Company (CSL) is a new Seychelles domestic company to which a special license is granted under the Companies (Special Licenses) Act 2003. The CSL is a low-tax company (as opposed to zero-tax Seychelles IBC), which is liable to pay Seychelles business tax at the rate of 1.5% on its world-wide income. This feature is the main advantage of Seychelles CSL, allowing it to bypass foreign blacklisting. A CSL is also able to access the growing number of Seychelles Double Taxation Agreements. The fact that a CSL is formally tax-resident in Seychelles allows the company to conduct business activities abroad without attracting suspicion and too much scrutiny procedures.
